Naivasha Child Protection Unit

The objective of the unit is to provide a safe space for children in conflict and in contact with the law.

The unit comes at a time where cases of child exploitation and abuse have been increasing at an alarming rate in Kenya.

In addition to rescue services, the unit will also offer protection services including individual assessment, counseling, psychosocial support, tracing, reintegration, and family reunion.

Children in Kenya have become more vulnerable to child abuse since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic according to a study by the African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN).

The unit is in line with the fulfillment of the Kenyan child protection policy which dictates that each police station has a protection unit for children
