Taylor Field
Taylor Field served as an IMB Journeyman with his wife, Susan, in Hong Kong and has a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Gateway Seminary. For the past 35 years, he has served with the North American Mission Board and now operates as Send Relief’s Regional Director of the Northeast. Starting in a storefront called “Graffiti,” he helped start five community ministry locations in New York City with additional affiliates in other urban areas. He is the author of ten books discussing urban ministry tactics and continues to faithfully serve church plants and community ministries in the Northeastern United States.

The Appalachia Ministry Center is located in Ashland, Kentucky, near the borders of Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia, and seeks to help rural communities end generational cycles of poverty, food insecurity and prevalent struggles with addiction.
With a population of more than 25 million people, Appalachia is a region well acquainted with hardship. Increasing unemployment and poverty as well as soaring rates of drug abuse have caused the region to lag significantly behind the rest of the country in terms of economic and population growth.

Home to nearly 3 million people and a popular tourist site for millions more, Chicago is the third-largest city in the United States. On the west side of Chicago, where most of the city’s gang-related violence takes place, Send Relief’s ministry center was established in 2021 to meet the growing spiritual needs of this metropolis. The ministry center staff, in partnership with Chicago West Bible Church and other SBC churches, are focused on strengthening families and the community with the goal of being a beacon of light in the darkness.
Laredo, Texas, is home to one of the oldest border crossings in America’s history and serves as the United States’ largest land-based entry point. Because of this history, Laredo is a unique melting pot of a city that seamlessly blends the cultures of the U.S. and Mexico. By partnering with the Texas Baptist River Ministry, Send Relief’s ministry center in Laredo is able to provide displaced families along the U.S. Mexico border with food, clothes, hygiene kits and the hope of new life in the gospel.

With a population of over 8.6 million, New York City has a lot to offer. But there are also 78,600 homeless and a poverty rate of 43.6%. Send Relief partners with Graffiti 2 Ministries in the Bronx with a simple mission for New York City: Meet the need first. When you care enough about someone to meet their needs, meaningful relationships develop and doors to the gospel open. The New York Ministry Center provides a wide variety of services—food for the homeless, training programs, tutoring, high school equivalency, case work, job training and creation and church planting. Through your support, this ministry center can reach the people of New York with the hope of Jesus Christ.
